First term of the year is finally over and out, and next term I have relatively easy classes, so that means a lot more free time and plenty of site updates. As you can see, I'm planning the site around my school schedule (trying to maintain a 4.5 GPA isn't fun... blah).

I'm currently looking through all my e-mails and replying to them. The Masked Pokemon is going to end on Halloween, so get your submissions in until then!

Just ridiculously overworked. Life hasn't been the greatest thing since school started, and my grades are slipping past straight A's, causing me a temporary ban of the Internet from my dad (basically, stereotypical Asian parents where B's are the devil).

And aside from that, my personal life hasn't been wonderful either and I even if I do have time to work on the site, I just feel uninspired and unmotivated for anything. I haven't done any site work over the past month, read my e-mails, haven't touched my tablet at all, and.... well, I've done nothing. To sum it all up, the site is very low on my priorities list right now and there are many other things I could be working on.

Sorry. I promise to look over my e-mails and start updating the site by next week.

The joys of summer are over.

It's only been the first day of high school, but I can already feel the pressure. Along with taking the nerdiest, AP and honors classes a freshman can ever take, I also have tennis practice for two hours every day, parents' expectations for straight A's in everything, and add that along with a mountain of homework and you pretty much have no other room left for anything else.

So basically, if you're one of the seemingly hundred people that asked for affiliation or sent me an e-mail, it's going to take a while. x_x And while on the subject, I added those who asked and that I got around to and accepted. Go browse through their sites while I'm bent over my homework. :]

Yep, I made another new layout. I'm sorry if you liked the other one and it didn't last long, but I was quite tired of fixed-width and its inflexibilities, to be honest, so I made another one last night.

There are TONS of transparent PNGs in this one, so if you're using some outdated browser like IE 6 (go upgrade then!) then what you're seeing now is just a mound of gray mish-mash. Sorry.

I really stepped out of my element in this one and was in a mood for a kind of "loose header" thing, if you know what I mean. I really wanted to make something different than the banner on top, and content on the bottom thing, and tried to merge the banner in with the content. I think it worked quite well and I'm pleased with the result.

Also, it's my first time using plain text for the header, and I think I did a pretty good job and it gives the layout more of a kick. I've always wanted to try just plain-text banners, but I never got around to it. (I wanted to make the big, shadow text in the background semi-opaque, but I never figured out how to make it work in Internet Explorer. Help, maybe?) The cute little clouds I drew myself, as well. :3

The only thing I don't like especially well about the layout is the right-hand corner cloud. I think I'll not be lazy and change it to something better-looking.

But other than that, ENJOY! This layout is definitely sticking around for a while. I'm probably going to make a lite version of it, for those who have problems with the transparent PNGs.

EDIT: Oh, and START POSTING IN THE FORUMS AGAIN (and join if you haven't already) okay?

Haven't really done much site work since my last update, but I did do more letters (H-L) of the Name Etymology page and I added some DP Pokemon as well. I'm sorry if I'm moving along at a snail's pace here, but all I can tell you is that it'll eventually be finished... someday. :D

And I'm finding it hard lately to get some motivation into my art, hence the crappiest of the newest Murkrow image in my art gallery.

Oh, and today is officially the last *real* day of summer for me before the weekend, and then it's school once more. Hoorah!

Also, I've reaffiliated with Absol's Moonlit Cave and Eonlight Valley; they're great sites that you should go visit and survived the test of 10 months, so go look if you have a chance. :)

I did letters D - G of the Name Etymology and decided just to merge all the areas of the Mt. Battle guide together.

EDIT: Oh, and I forgot to mention, a few days ago, after digging through the archives in the older than old forums, I stumbled across my old art thread, and to my amazement, it contained active, unbroken links to my old 2005/2006 oekaki images. They look a lot crappier now than I thought they did before, obviously due to the fact that I drew them all with a mouse.

So for nostalgia's sake I put them up in my art gallery as well, and you can look at them if you're curious.

Possibly the most screwed up and incorrect and weird, obviously outdated page on this site is the Name Etymology page, and it's today that I finally decided to do something about it. I've currently revised Pokemon with letters A-C, with more probably coming tonight (if I'm not already too occupied watching the Olympics).

This time, I'm actually taking care to research on each of the word parts and give you a definition of any obscure words. And after I'm done with that, I'll go do the DP Pokemon, although half of me is still stuck in the RSE generation.

I rewrote the Introduction to Spriting page of the Spriting Guide. Whoo.

Also, I think the past needs to stay in the past, so I decided to just start a clean slate with the News Archives (and because it was getting to the point where the computer started to lag every time I hit the Enter button on the old Archives page).

EDIT: Also, new What Pokemon Are You? quiz images that aren't all crappy and with happy-happy-joy-joy designs and colors made in some crappy freeware program like the last. Expect The Twelve Days of Christmas to also get a revamp.

Since the last Masked Pokemon competition. Dang! Well, there's a new one now, so go and do it! This time there's 5 clues and a bigger picture (50x50 instead of 40x40) although I'm not sure that'll make much difference. Have fun with it!

Also last night I completely rewrote the About Me page, so that's one page that I can take off the to-do list. And for people that care, I remade the links on the portal of the Spriting page CSS, since it was bothering a certain someone so much... lol.

I decided to merge Spriting Deluxe with the layout of the main site, so it's no longer a seperate page. Also, I'm focusing on making the site not as much of an eyesore and adding some more images here and there, to make it more visually pleasing, since right now its' just a bunch of text, and that could get boring.

So I made the entrance to the new spriting page all nice and fancy, with image rollovers and stuff. I think it makes the page a lot better and overall gives the site a higher quality, in my opinion. The new link to the spriting page can be found under the Art/Graphics section.

Next step would be to revise all the spriting pages, seeing as the guides are awfully outdated and have awful HTML from the old days anyways.

Also, there is a spittin' new Feraligatr image in my art gallery. :]

I always wanted to get around to this, because just clicking on a link and the new image popping up in a new window is rather lame and dumbs down the image itself, in my opinion, so I revamped the galleries with thumbnails and a viewing image page that I put together with my butchered PHP skills (I forgot pretty much 90% of it over my 10 month long absence, but I'm relearning it pretty quickly).

So go see the art gallery and renders page, even if you have already and just enjoy the new look. I'm also planning on reorganizing my art gallery and putting the sprites elsewhere and perhaps putting up my non-Pokemon art, because it looks rather messy and unorganized right now.

After that's complete, I'll start revising old pages (my eyes are currently on Website Tips, Site History, About Me, the FAQ, pretty much all the Pokemon reviews, and Spriting Deluxe... yeah, basically 50% of the site) and then putting up new ones.

Well, I had this fantastic idea yesterday that the Pokemon community still needed more images to use in their graphics and such (despite the great efforts of sites like Suta-Raito and Arkeis). But I always thought that there should be something more official, so I decided to hunt around the net for Pokemon movies, and then cut them out and tried to up the quality as best as I could. The result? Pokemon renders! So far I only have Scyther, Squirtle, and Pikachu but I'm planning to add more if I ever find the time.

(By the way, the three of them all come from screenshots of Pokemon the Movie 2000.)

The page can be found under the Freebies page. I'm planning on making LI more image-centered, since most of what I have now is almost all text and that I get a bit boring after awhile.

And I've added some new images to my art gallery, with some Pokemon fanart I've made over the past year.

Wow, it's been almost a year since I've randomly left, and before I go into the actual update, I will apologize to you right here and now. Believe it whether you want to your not; what's in the text file is absolutely true. The loyal people that stayed on the old forums already know this, as does Articuno and Faltzer.

That being said, I would like to thank above all Articuno, for continuing to host this site after so long, and Faltzer, who repurchased the domain (although for some reason the .com was taken so we had to buy .net) and is currently hosting the forums, because for some reason myBB rejected remote hosting. Without these two, there would be no way I would have brought LI back, so props to them and their generosity!

As you can see, we have a new layout. I'm sorry for the huge loading time on the banner (it's like 800x600 pixels) but there wasn't really any other way, but I hope its looks make up for the file size. I might also make a light version of this layout, for people who don't like black background + light text and prefer it the other way (like me).

After admiring the new layout, I'd like to bring your attention to the awesome new forums that Faltzer is currently hosting for me. We got off of the old InvisionFree (which was spammed up by bots anyway) and are now on the much better, awesome-er, cleaner, and more flexible myBB. The only thing it needs to reach absolute awesomeness is your posts, so go ahead and register and join the community!

Also, over my absence, I got a tablet and I'm knee deep into art right now, so if you're also interested in art, you can check out my new deviantART account. I'm very curious to see what amount of my viewers are also deviant artists, so please drop me a note if you have an account as well. ;)

I've also made the pages prettier, did a major quality control filter and cropped a bunch of old pages (which, by the way, you can still find in the archive directory, for example, http://lugias-island.net/archive/soundproof.php), and reorganized a few new ones. I also need to revise quite a few of these pages, which is in my near future plans.

And last but not least, you might have noticed that I've completely cleared my old affiliates, so now I'm back with a clean slate. Affiliation rules will pretty be the same as last time, so send me an e-mail and apply if you want.
